Musical Memories was curated for care homes. Using my experience of working has a care assistant and working with people living with dementia and my skills has a music therapist I created a musical performance that is interactive. It is a themed performance session that uses music therapy techniques to help unlock musical memories.

A Musical Memories sessions will be based around a theme! The sessions will be curated around this theme and involve singing and saxophone performances.
The audience will be invited to singing along, play percussion instruments and do movement to music throughout the session.
There will also be space for the audience to reminisce with one another as musical memories are unlocked.

Unlike usual care home entertainment my musical memories sessions are interactive and invites audience participation.
Playing music and singing in a group can help to boost wellbeing and build social connections and help to reduce feelings of isolation.
Familiar music can evoke memories and emotions which can provide mental stimulation and enhance cognitive abilities such has memory recall. It can also bring a sense of identity to the person experiencing the music.
